We might not recognize the name Flordelis dos Santos de Souza, but in Brazil, she is a celebrity. She was born in the slums of Rio de Janeiro called favelas, the 4th of 5 children, and after she made her way out, she made a name for herself as a gospel singer, eventually becoming a congressman.
But her real claim to fame was the fact that she seemed to have a real heart for the children being affected by the drugs wars in the country, and she started adopting them. She didn’t stop adopting them until she had at least 55 children. She married one of her earliest adopted sons, Anderson Do Carmo. And then, in 2019, Anderson was murdered…
